Hello future Sprout students! My name is Chris and I’m from the USA. I graduated from Troy University in Alabama where I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work. In 2008, I decided to change careers and become an English teacher, so I obtained my CELTA teaching certificate from Cambridge University before moving abroad. For the past six years, I have been living in South Korea where I teach university students, but I also love working with children during summer
and winter camps. Currently, I am working on my Masters of Education/TESOL degree so that I can become a better English instructor.
Living in Asia is very different from my home country, but I believe that’s what makes life interesting! I enjoy traveling to foreign countries and learning about other cultures. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities like snowboarding, hiking, ultimate frisbee, and biking. I also enjoy inside activities like working out at the gym and yoga. One of my favorite hobbies is reading a good fiction book on my sofa while drinking a warm cup of tea. I believe that reading
for fun is one of the best ways to learn a language, and I am so happy to be working with the Sprout reading program. Come join my class and I will help you enjoy learning English through books!
Hope to see you soon!
