Hello there! I was born in New York and grew up near Washington D.C... but I consider myself a yankee at heart.
People say my accent is very neutral, since I was born in the north but raised in the south.
I have a culturally diverse background.
You see, my mother is Korean and my father has Jewish roots.
It's a strange combination, but I'm not the only one of my kind.
I have a younger sister, who also happens to be a teacher with the Sprout Program.
She is affectionately known by her students as Teacher Apples.
When I have the time, I love to travel and have been blessed enough to live in several different countries over the past few years.
I speak Spanish and a bit of Chinese too. Other hobbies include playing tennis and making music.
I especially love playing the drums and have played the guitar since I was very young.
My original degree of studies is in the arts, so I love to paint and still do much drawing and designing in my free time.
I recently completed my second degree in ESL education. My hope is that combining my love of art and music will enhance my teaching methodology.
I've been working with the Sprout program since 2013 and even had the wonderful opportunity to visit some of my students in China for the first Sprout Summer Camp!
Over the past years it's been a privilege to work with adults and children of various native languages, teaching and tutoring in the classroom setting as well as online.
I can truly testify that the Sprout program is a great place for kids to interact with talented and caring teachers.
The size of the classes are perfect to give each student individual attention and it's a great vehicle to connect with native speakers from all over the world!
I believe that online learning is the future of education and I consider having a job in education a great honor.
I hope to meet you soon and learn about you too!
